Irena: The Musical, a new work by creative team Megan Cavallari and Kait Kerrigan, has advanced to the 2024 NWNV (New Works / New Voices) finalist. New Works/New Voices (NWNV) is an initiative at the Syracuse University Department of Drama created to support the development of musicals by writers and composers whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented in the musical theater canon. Our musical, telling the story of Holocaust heroine Irena Sendler’s defiance of Nazi Jewish aggression, is making strides. We are thrilled to be considered for this development opportunity.
